A home-based baker has turned her love of cakes and pastries to Collinsville’s next locale for some sweet treats.
Angela Buchanan decided to open “Ms. Angee’s Bakery” at 1101 Caseyville Road after family and friends began asking about her cakes several years prior.
“People would call me and ask me to bake something for them, so I would do it,” Buchanan said.
Buchanan is no stranger to baking with over a decade of experience under her belt.
“I’ve been baking for about 12 years; baking really started out as a hobby,” Buchanan said.
Nothing but positive messages and support have poured in according to Buchanan.
“Everyone has been really happy and supportive in my new [venture,]” Buchanan said. “A lot of people are coming over from church, some from my son’s football team.
For the long term, Buchanan says that she would like to open multiple shops and that she would love to create custom cakes for more individuals.
Ms. Angee’s Bakery will hold its Grand Opening Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017 at the bakery from 8am – 12pm. Normal operation hours are Monday through Friday 6am to 5pm and on weekends from 7am to 3pm.
